Trusts & Estates Paralegal
Estate Planning Probate Administration Trust Administration
Vero Beach, Florida | Full-Time | In Person
Come do your best work with a team that has your back.
Our Trusts & Estates department is growing, and we are looking for an experienced paralegal to join us in Vero Beach. If you have spent years in estate planning, probate, and trust administration and you are ready for a firm where your judgment is trusted, your questions are always welcome, and your work genuinely matters to the families we serve, we would like to meet you.
We are collaborative by design, not by accident. Our attorneys and paralegals work side by side on matters, talk through the hard calls together, and share the credit when things go well. You will not be handed a complicated file and left to sort it out alone, and you will never be the only person who knows what is happening on a matter.
Much of our work comes to us at difficult moments in our clients’ lives. The people on this team are the kind who slow down, listen, and take care of the details so families do not have to. If that sounds like you, you will fit right in.
Why you will enjoy working here
- Real collaboration. Open doors, working sessions, and attorneys who take the time to explain the reasoning behind the work.
- Meaningful client contact. You will build lasting relationships with our clients and their families, and be a trusted point of contact rather than a name on the file.
- Room to grow. We support continuing education, paralegal certification, and taking on greater responsibility as you are ready for it.
- Balance we actually mean. A predictable Monday-through-Friday schedule, generous paid time off, and a firm culture that respects your time away from the office.
- Vero Beach. A beautiful coastal community on Florida’s Treasure Coast, with beaches, a walkable downtown, and a pace of life that leaves room to enjoy it.
What you will do
- Estate planning. Draft Wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care documents, and deeds, and help clients see the plan come together from first meeting through signing.
- Probate and trust administration. Work with our attorneys through every phase of administration, including gathering and valuing assets, preparing inventories and accountings, coordinating with financial institutions, and facilitating distributions to beneficiaries.
- Court filings. Prepare and e-file petitions, pleadings, and related probate documents with the Florida courts, and keep every deadline on track.
- Client communication. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other professional advisors.
- Case management. Maintain organized case files, coordinate meetings and signings, and assist with complex asset transfers and funding.
What we are looking for
- At least five years of hands-on trusts and estates paralegal experience, including estate planning, probate administration, and trust administration.
- Working knowledge of Florida probate procedure, the Florida Probate Rules, and the state’s e-filing system.
- A compassionate, professional, and patient approach to client service, especially with grieving families.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, and comfort speaking directly with clients and beneficiaries.
- Genuine attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple matters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Nice to have: Experience with WealthCounsel, Westlaw Forms, MyCase or DisplaySoft is a plus, though we are glad to bring you up to speed.
