Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dedicated legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal support experience, particularly in personal injury law, and demonstrate excellent research, drafting, and client communication skills. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment supporting complex litigation cases, contributing to the successful resolution of personal injury claims. The position requires meticulous handling of confidential information and proficiency with legal case management systems and research tools. MUST SPEAK SPANISH
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of personal injury cases, including case intake, investigation, and preparation for trial or settlement.
- File Motions & lawsuits
- Manage legal documents, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms to support case strategies.
- Organize and maintain case files using document management systems such as iManage and other electronic filing systems.
- Review medical records, accident reports, and other pertinent documentation for accuracy and relevance.
- Coordinate depositions, interviews with clients and witnesses, and court filings while adhering to procedural law requirements.
- Handle client communication professionally, providing updates on case status and gathering necessary information.
- Support litigation processes through document review, proofreading, and ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while managing multiple cases efficiently.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and managing client correspondence.
Experience
- Paralegal experience in personal injury law is required; experience supporting civil litigation is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with legal support tools such as PCLaw, Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, Word processing software (Microsoft Office), and document review platforms is essential.
- Knowledge of procedural law related to personal injury cases and general & commercial litigation is important.
- Prior experience handling legal research, legal drafting, client communication, and document management systems will be advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills combined with excellent writing skills are necessary to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Experience working within a law office environment supporting attorneys in complex litigation matters is preferred.
