Position

We need a highly organised and proactive Paralegal to support the management and progression of externally handled legal matters. This role sits within our in-house legal and compliance function and focuses on overseeing supplier activity, coordinating legal instructions, and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and in line with business objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build experience within a commercial, operationally focused legal environment, working closely with external legal providers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Duties

Managing the lifecycle of cases referred to external legal suppliers, including issuing instructions and monitoring progress

Acting as a key point of contact between the business and panel solicitors, debt recovery agents, and other third-party providers

Reviewing case updates, reporting on performance, and ensuring adherence to agreed service levels and strategies

Ensuring accurate and consistent data management within internal systems and supplier platforms

Assisting with compliance monitoring to ensure activity aligns with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks

Administering insolvency-related cases, including IVAs and debt management plans

Reviewing incoming IVA proposals and debt management notifications, ensuring appropriate actions are taken in line with company policy

Liaising with insolvency practitioners and third-party debt advisors where required

Who you are

A strong interest in legal processes, compliance, or dispute resolution

Previous experience in legal administration, debt recovery, insolvency handling, or a regulated environment would be desirable

Familiarity with IVAs, debt management plans, or civil litigation processes would be desirable

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities

Excellent communication skills, with confidence in liaising with external partners and internal teams

Strong attention to detail

A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Comfortable working with data, systems, and performance metrics

Other Information About The Role

Salary: £26,436.80 per annum

Hours: 40 per week; Monday Friday

Location: Newton Abbot or Lancing with hybrid flexibilities after probation period.

  • Our selection process is as follows: Application – Competency Based Interview – Task
  • You must be able to legally live and work in the UK without sponsorship
  • The postholder may be required to travel to external meetings on occasion by the most effective means available
