Job Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced civil rights or employment law attorney to file a retaliation lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court against a public charter school. All documentation, exhibits, and a draft complaint have been prepared. This is a targeted, well-supported case focusing on retaliation following a formal discrimination complaint.
Duties Include:
Review existing complaint draft and evidence packet
Finalize and file the lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court
Coordinate service of process
Respond to motion to dismiss, if filed
Draft settlement demand letter
Qualifications:
D.C. Bar license (active or reciprocal)
3+ years in civil rights or employment litigation
Experience with retaliation claims under DCHRA or §1981 preferred
Client Notes:
Goal is pre-trial leverage and settlement
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $150.00 – $200.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 8 per week
