Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Mediator to facilitate constructive dialogue and resolve conflicts across diverse communities and organizational settings. In this vital role, you will serve as an impartial intermediary, guiding disputing parties toward mutually acceptable solutions through effective negotiation, facilitation, and legal mediation techniques. Your expertise will help foster peaceful resolutions, promote understanding, and uphold the principles of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Responsibilities
- Conduct mediations in workplace disputes, community conflicts, or legal matters with professionalism and neutrality
- Facilitate open communication between conflicting parties to identify underlying issues and interests
- Apply negotiation strategies to help parties reach fair and sustainable agreements
- Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion throughout the mediation process
- Analyze dispute dynamics to develop effective resolution strategies aligned with legal standards and best practices in ADR
- Document mediation proceedings clearly and accurately, including agreements reached or next steps required
- Support clients by providing guidance on conflict management techniques and dispute resolution options
Requirements
- Proven experience working with culturally diverse communities and understanding varied perspectives
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage high-tension situations calmly and effectively
- Knowledge of workplace dispute resolution methods, legal mediation processes, and alternative dispute resolution techniques such as arbitration
- Excellent analysis skills to assess conflict sources and develop tailored facilitation strategies
- Exceptional communication and writing skills for clear documentation and client interaction
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining impartiality
- Experience in conflict management, facilitation in mediation sessions, and client communication is highly desirable
