As a member of Intact’s premier legal team, you will tackle complex disputes while partnering with Claims and Underwriting.
Your role will involve analyzing securities, representing Intact in various court levels, and advising underwriting teams on intricate legal matters. This position is designed for seasoned professionals seeking to make a significant impact within a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage complex surety and trade credit claims
• Represent Intact in court, mediation, and arbitration
• Provide legal opinions on liability and recovery strategies
• Lead negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes
• Develop training for underwriting and claims teams
Requirements:
• LL.B. or J.D. in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Over 7 years of experience in complex civil litigation
• Strong knowledge of securities and insolvency law
• Experience with Ontario’s Construction Act is a plus
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
