Litigation counsel (Corporate & Premises Liability)
Job Overview
California-licensed litigator with strong litigation and corporate experience to manage legal matters across multiple locations. Must have at least 5 year as an associate attorney with big firm litigation experience. Highly organized and responsive, able to manage multiple claims and projects simultaneously (including organized discovery) – while providing practical legal guidance.
Compensation & Schedule
- $180,000 – $200,000 salary
- approx. 50 hours/week or as business needs
- Full-time, in-house
Key Responsibilities
- Manage premises liability claims from intake through resolution
- Handle multiple active matters with strong organization and deadline tracking including highly responsible calendar management.
- Lead litigation: Highly organized discovery (RFAs, RFPs, interrogatories), document production, case management
- Conduct and defend depositions; prepare witnesses
- Perform direct and cross-examinations; support trial prep
- Evaluate risk, exposure, and settlement vs. defense strategy
- Draft/review contracts, leases, vendor agreements
- Advise on corporate, compliance, and risk matters
- Track claims, litigation, contracts, and deadlines
- Respond timely to legal documents and internal requests
Qualifications
- Active California Bar
- 5+ years attorney experience
- 5+ years litigation (discovery + depositions)
- 2+ years premises liability
- Strong corporate/contracts background
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters
