Legal Intake Specialist Jobs in Remote at Schlanger Law Group, LLP
Help Real People Fight Back Against Banks and Credit Bureaus. Be the First Voice They Hear.
Schlanger Law Group LLP is a widely recognized consumer protection law firm. We represent people harmed by inaccurate credit reporting, identity theft, and other unfair and deceptive business practices, in both individual and class action litigation against banks, credit reporting agencies, and other financial institutions. We litigate in federal courts and arbitration forums in New York, New Jersey, and around the country.
We’re looking for a sharp, empathetic Legal Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for people who need our help. This is a role with real purpose — you’ll engage with prospective clients in their most stressful moments, assess their situations, guide them through the intake process, and work hand-in-hand with attorneys to move the right cases forward. If you’re the kind of person who builds trust quickly, follows through consistently, and knows how to connect with people under pressure, we want to hear from you.
Why Schlanger Law Group?
- Mission-Driven Work: Every intake call is an opportunity to help a real person navigate a serious legal problem. Your work directly determines who gets access to justice.
- Real Impact from Day One: You’ll be working closely with attorneys to vet and onboard clients, playing a central role in the firm’s growth and client experience.
- Modern Tech Stack: We use Clio Grow and other modern tools extensively. We’re building a firm that leverages technology to work smarter, and we want team members who share that mindset.
- Fully Remote: Work from anywhere in the U.S.
The Work
You’ll be a critical part of our intake and client experience team, serving as the gateway to the firm for prospective clients. We need someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and a results-oriented mindset to every interaction.
Client Interaction & Empathy
- Respond to incoming calls and emails promptly and professionally, providing a welcoming, reassuring first experience for prospective clients.
- Engage with potential clients in a compassionate manner, actively listening to their legal issues and demonstrating genuine understanding and sensitivity.
- Build rapport and trust with prospective clients, guiding them confidently through the intake process toward a hiring decision.
- Handle objections and pushback with professionalism, creating appropriate urgency while never losing sight of the human being on the other end of the conversation.
Case Review & Vetting
- Review supporting documents provided by potential clients and assess the preliminary merits of their cases.
- Determine eligibility based on the firm’s areas of practice, including credit reporting issues, identity theft, unauthorized transactions, and related consumer protection matters.
- Develop a working understanding of the firm’s practice areas to better assess cases and support attorneys in the intake process.
- Coordinate with attorneys to schedule and confirm calls or meetings, ensuring all relevant information is prepared in advance.
Follow-Up & Pipeline Management
- Maintain consistent follow-up communication with prospective clients via phone, email, and other channels to gather additional information, answer questions, and keep the process moving.
- Track the status of prospective clients throughout the intake pipeline and proactively identify next steps.
- Demonstrate strong follow-through and sales confidence in converting qualified prospects into clients.
CRM & Administrative Support
- Accurately input and update client information and case details in the firm’s CRM system (Clio Grow), maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
- Organize documents, manage data, and perform administrative tasks to support the intake process.
- Continuously look for ways to improve intake workflows and client experience.
What We Require
- Excellent communication and active listening skills — you can connect with people quickly and make them feel heard.
- Demonstrated empathy and professionalism when working with clients in stressful or emotionally charged situations.
- Sales confidence and the ability to create urgency, handle objections, and guide prospective clients toward a decision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple prospective clients and follow-up tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM software and data entry; experience with Clio Grow is a plus.
- Tech-savvy with a proactive attitude — comfortable working in a fully remote, technology-driven environment.
- Prior experience in customer service, call centers, sales, or legal support is preferred.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new legal concepts and firm procedures.
- Must be based in the United States.
Who You Are
You’re the person people trust immediately. You listen well, communicate clearly, and follow through on what you say you’ll do. You’re organized, dependable, and energized by helping people navigate difficult situations.
You understand that behind every intake call is a real person who has been harmed, and you take that seriously. You want to be part of a team doing meaningful work, and you want to do it from home.
