The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 2 years of editing or proofreading experience in legal, academic, or technical fields
  • Strong command of English, with excellent writing, editing, and comprehension skills
  • Experience writing or editing legal content, such as articles, blogs, or case notes, using Jade, AustLII, or Mondaq is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with experts and colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail and sound editorial judgment in grammar and syntax, with the ability to identify and escalate concerns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence in using digital tools
  • Legal background preferred but not required
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities

Your Daily Tasks

  • Review expert witness reports to ensure accuracy, coherence, logical structure, and alignment with lawyers’ instructions
  • Build strong working relationships with experts and guide them through report writing and refinement
  • Strengthen expert reasoning and communication through targeted editorial guidance
  • Support expert profiling by compiling key details, professional summaries, and judgment links for database maintenance
  • Elevate written communication across teams through editorial support, constructive feedback, and training
  • Improve team efficiency by completing essential administrative duties
  • Create blogs, case studies, and other written content that highlight the diversity and impact of cases
  • Contribute to internal and external newsletters that align with company messaging
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to maintain a consistent brand voice across weekly and ad hoc content
  • Conduct legal and value-adding research using platforms such as Jade, AustLII, and Mondaq
  • Monitor legal news alerts and recommend timely LinkedIn articles and content ideas
  • Draft high-quality articles and posts for publication, subject to review and approval
