We're partnering with a leading global investment management firm to appoint a Legal & Data Compliance Associate/Vice President to join a highly regarded legal and compliance function.
This is a unique opportunity for an attorney looking to move in-house into a sophisticated investment platform at the forefront of technology, data governance and AI. The role sits at the intersection of legal, regulatory compliance, investigations and emerging technologies, partnering closely with senior legal, compliance, engineering and research teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the legal and regulatory implications of the firm's use of data, artificial intelligence and third-party technology.
- Conduct legal and compliance reviews of data providers, AI platforms and technology vendors.
- Draft, negotiate and interpret agreements relating to data licensing, technology and intellectual property.
- Develop and enhance policies, procedures and governance frameworks relating to data usage and AI.
- Monitor U.S. and global regulatory developments impacting data, privacy, AI and financial services.
- Lead internal reviews and investigations relating to data governance, regulatory compliance and control frameworks.
- Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Research and Technology to implement robust governance processes.
- Provide practical legal advice on regulatory risk, investigations and compliance matters across the business.
The Ideal Candidate
- J.D. from a leading U.S. law school and admission to practice.
- Approximately 4–8 years' post-qualification experience.
- Currently practicing at a top-tier law firm, ideally within White Collar Crime, Government Investigations, Regulatory Enforcement, Financial Institutions, Litigation or Internal Investigations.
- Experience advising financial institutions, asset managers or technology clients is highly desirable.
- Strong drafting, analytical and investigation skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical commercial advice.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, data governance, emerging technology and financial regulation.
- Prior in-house experience is not required.
