We're supporting a luxury hospitality client in the search for a Data Privacy Lawyer to join its team on a full-time contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to deepen their expertise in a highly regulated, data-rich consumer environment. The client is open to training up the right candidate, so we're prioritising a solid privacy foundation, DPIA experience and strong stakeholder skills over deep seniority – making this a great fit for someone ready to grow into the role.
Please note this is a contract role and the candidate can be based in either Singapore or Malaysia (must already have the right to work).
Key areas of work include:
- Supporting ongoing PDPA compliance and privacy governance initiatives
- Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments for new systems, vendors and projects
- Reviewing vendor arrangements, DPAs and data transfer provisions
- Drafting and maintaining privacy notices, policies and internal guidance materials
- Supporting data governance, breach response and records management processes
- Advising stakeholders across legal, security, marketing, operations and HR teams
Ideal background:
- A junior to mid-level lawyer with either in-house or/private practice experience in data privacy/data protection matters, including PDPA exposure
- DPIA/PIA experience and strong stakeholder management skills
- A willingness to learn and develop within a dedicated privacy role
- Data Privacy Impact Assessment experience with knowledge of a compliance tool such as OneTrust is a plus; GDPR concepts, information security, or consumer-facing business exposure would also be advantageous
- A practical, commercially minded approach to problem-solving
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams
