About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to provide dedicated support to a team of Australian Registered Migration Agents (RMAs). This is a high-volume, process-driven role focused on preparing and managing employer-sponsored visa applications and supporting migration matters from commencement through to lodgement.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of RMAs and be responsible for managing documentation, coordinating with clients and employers, preparing application packs, conducting research, and maintaining accurate records.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a structured environment and has previous experience supporting Australian migration matters.

Key ResponsibilitiesMatter Management

  • Open, maintain, and update migration files using Migration Manager or equivalent systems.
  • Monitor visa and sponsorship expiry dates and escalate key deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate file notes, task lists, and application milestones.
  • Ensure electronic files remain organised and audit-ready.

Document Collection and Processing

  • Request and collect required documents from clients and employers.
  • Review documents against RMA-issued checklists and Department requirements.
  • Prepare document registers, cover sheets, and application bundles.
  • Compile application packs for RMA review and lodgement.

Employer-Sponsored Visa Support

  • Assist with visa subclasses 482, 494, and 186 applications.
  • Populate sponsorship, nomination, and visa application forms under RMA supervision.
  • Coordinate with employer representatives to obtain business documentation.
  • Support Labour Agreement and employer-sponsored migration matters.

LMT and AMSR Research

  • Conduct Labour Market Testing (LMT) research and maintain advertising evidence.
  • Compile Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR) benchmark information.
  • Prepare supporting research reports for RMA review.

Client Communication

  • Manage routine communications using approved templates.
  • Coordinate appointments, document requests, and progress updates.
  • Draft standard correspondence for RMA review.
  • Assist with data entry into ImmiAccount and related systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting an Australian Registered Migration Agent (RMA) or migration law practice.
  • Hands-on experience with Australian employer-sponsored visa subclasses:
  • 482 (Skills in Demand/TSS)
  • 494
  • 186 (ENS)
  • Experience using ImmiAccount and Department of Home Affairs systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and document management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable home office setup and stable internet connection.
  • Availability to work Australian business hours.

Highly Regarded

  • Mandarin language proficiency (spoken and/or written).
  • Experience using WeChat for professional client communications.
  • Experience conducting LMT and AMSR research.
  • Familiarity with Labour Agreement pathways.
  • Experience with Migration Manager or similar migration software.
  • Experience supporting high-volume employer-sponsored migration practices.
  • Knowledge of SkillSelect, EOI, and ROI processes.
  • Law degree or relevant legal qualification.
