Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 3rd to 7th year Employment Litigation Associate to join its Austin or Dallas Texas office on a hybrid basis.

This is a defense side employment litigation role for an attorney who enjoys fast moving matters, practical counseling through litigation risk, and delivering strong results for sophisticated clients across industries.

The Opportunity

You will handle a broad range of labor and employment disputes, including wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, and leave and accommodation related claims under federal and Texas law. The work includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery and electronically stored information, preparing for and taking depositions, interfacing directly with clients, and supporting hearings and trial preparation as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a 3rd to 7th year Employment Litigation Associate with:

  • Active admission to practice law in Texas
  • 3 to 7 years of meaningful labor and employment experience, with management side defense litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of key federal and state frameworks, including wage and hour, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, and related Texas statutes and common claims
  • Experience handling core litigation tasks such as witness interviews, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and conducting and defending depositions
  • Excellent legal writing, persuasive advocacy, strong academic credentials, and the ability to run assignments with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with partners and teams

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is 150000 to 275000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
