Akkodis is seeking a Communication Coordinator for a 12-month contract role with a client in New York.
Location: NY – Hudson Yards, Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract + Possible Extension
Pay Range: $30-$32 per hour on a W2. The rate may be negotiable based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
Business Unit/Group: HBO General Inc.-Media Rel / Corp. Affairs – Regions
OT Required / Expected? Yes, OT expected; Weekend and on-call periodically. Weekday evening events (Red Carpet Premiere Events)
What We Do/Project
This role supports publicity efforts by helping manage show assets, drafting press materials, coordinating talent travel and services, tracking budgets and invoices, and maintaining calendars and press lists. It also assists with planning and executing press events, coverage reporting, and day-to-day departmental coordination.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
• Help manage show asset needs, including photos, clips, loglines, bios, and headshots.
• Draft press materials, including releases and media alerts.
• Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for talent.
• Coordinate glam services for talent.
• Help track invoices and show budgets.
• Assist with planning, staffing, logistics, and talent and media relations for press events, including Upfront, Comic Con, TCA, junkets, photo shoots, press trips, festivals, premiere event carpets, awards show carpets, etc.
• Participate in department brainstorms and PR department meetings.
• Maintain and update various department and team calendars with ongoing publicity activities.
• Organize press mailings.
• Update and maintain press contact lists and editorial calendars.
• Compile show campaign coverage reports.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
a. 1+ years; Organization skills and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
2) Experience working in entertainment publicity, with an understanding of the entertainment press, trends, and social media.
a. 1+ years.
3) Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
a. 1+ years; Ability to communicate with high-profile individuals (actors, producers, press, etc.).
Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements
1) Familiarity with Social Media Platforms.
2) Above 3.0 GPA at an accredited University.
Soft Skills:
1) Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
2) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
3) Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
4) Must be able to work weekends and nights as required for events.
Technology Requirements:
1) Skilled with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education / Certifications
1) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
