Job Summary

The Field Inspector will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of assigned premises across the five divisions of Kampala (Central, Kawempe, Makindye, Nakawa, and Rubaga). The inspector will collect accurate and comprehensive data on each premises using mobile data collection system. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct On-Site Inspections.

Data Collection and Entry: Use a mobile data collection system to record accurate and real-time data during inspections.

Engage with Premises Owners and Operators: Communicate with premises owners and operators to gather additional information and clarify any discrepancies.

Report Writing and Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, summarising findings and observations for each premises.

Collaborate with the Project Team: Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure inspections are conducted efficiently and in line with the project’s objectives.

Ensure Safety and Professionalism: Adhere to safety protocols while conducting inspections, especially in high-risk areas.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law, Information Technology, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in field inspections, data collection, or regulatory compliance roles.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardised procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with premises owners and operators.

Proficiency in using mobile devices and data collection applications.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet inspection deadlines.

Basic knowledge of GPS technology and photo documentation.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations in the field.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel extensively within the Kampala Metropolitan Area.

Ability to work in diverse environments, including high-density urban areas.

High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
