Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Corporate Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries, offering strategic legal support to our business operations. This role demands expertise in UAE laws, international regulations, and crypto-specific compliance frameworks. Candidates with a strong blend of in-house legal and law firm experience, coupled with proficiency in dispute resolution and regulatory compliance, are particularly well-suited for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal counsel on strategic business initiatives and daily operations, focusing on UAE laws, international regulations, and crypto-specific standards.
Conduct feasibility studies and deliver legal solutions to facilitate business expansion into new jurisdictions.
Contract Review and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents, with an emphasis on crypto and blockchain-related matters.
Compliance Guidance: Develop and advise on compliance strategies for UAE operations and international business activities. Stay current with evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain compliance standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks unique to the crypto sector, implementing proactive solutions to safeguard the company’s interests.
Dispute Resolution: Oversee and provide legal advice on dispute resolution processes, including litigation, mediation, and arbitration. Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary.
Intellectual Property (IP): Provide legal guidance on IP protection, particularly for digital assets and blockchain technologies.
Corporate Governance: Ensure adherence to best practices in corporate governance and compliance with local and international policies, especially regarding crypto and digital asset trading.
Training and Education: Educate internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics, policies, and procedures, with a focus on cryptocurrency compliance and risk management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s degree or equivalent qualifications preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, specializing in UAE law and common law jurisdictions.
Demonstrated expertise in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, or broader fintech industries is highly desirable.
Professional Certification:
Bar admission in the UAE or a common law jurisdiction is preferred.
Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of UAE corporate, commercial, labor, contract, and criminal law.
Familiarity with international trade law, dispute resolution, and cross-border compliance.
In-depth knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain regulations, compliance standards, and industry practices.
Languages:
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
Proficiency in Arabic and/or Mandarin is a significant advantage.
