About the opportunity
We are partnering with a Tier 1 global solar PV module manufacturer on a senior legal hire for their European operations. Our client is one of the world's leading producers of high-efficiency solar modules, with 170 GW+ cumulative shipments, a strong European footprint, and a reputation for setting the pace on next-generation N-type cell technology. They are Bloomberg Tier 1 rated and consistently recognised among the top PV brands in Europe.
This is a confidential search. Full company details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
The role
Reporting into senior legal leadership, you will be the go-to legal and commercial partner for the European region, owning contract risk end-to-end and playing a central role in the company's trade-defence and export-control strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (module supply agreements, framework agreements, EPC, distribution, partnership and services contracts)
- Identify and manage commercial, financial, tax, export control, trade defence and compliance risk across the contract lifecycle
- Lead contract performance management and risk control on live engagements
- Support and directly engage in overseas anti-dumping, countervailing, anti-subsidy and trade protection matters affecting European operations
- Independently drive MTC (Must-Take Contract / Master Terms & Conditions) processes
- Provide day-to-day commercial and legal support to sales, finance and operations teams across Europe
What we're looking for
- 5–8+ years of relevant legal and commercial contract experience, ideally in-house at a solar PV, renewables, or international manufacturing business
- Demonstrable track record of identifying and mitigating complex contract risk
- Direct exposure to anti-dumping / countervailing investigations, trade defence measures and export control
- Confident operating independently at a senior level, partnering with commercial stakeholders
- Fluent English (essential); additional European languages such as German, French, Spanish, Italian or Dutch are a strong plus
- Qualified lawyer with a strong commercial mindset
Location
Flexible across Europe — Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, Italy and other European locations considered. Open to local European candidates and overseas Chinese professionals with long-term European work authorisation.
Why this role
A genuinely senior seat inside a business winning on technology and scale, with a remit that goes beyond standard in-house legal work — you will own the trade-defence file for one of the most strategically important product categories in Europe's energy transition.
