Job Purpose
- To provide legal and compliance support to the Company by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements, safeguarding the Company’s legal interests, managing legal and regulatory risks, and promoting a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance,
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to management and business units on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and ISO standards, including ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System.
- Manage legal risks, regulatory matters, investigations, and liaise with external legal counsel and government authorities when required.
- Develop and implement legal, compliance, and anti-bribery policies, conduct compliance training, and promote ethical business practices across the organization.
- Serve as a member of the Anti-Bribery Function (ABF) and perform responsibilities in accordance with ISO 37001 requirements.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent; admission to the Malaysian Bar is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, or corporate advisory functions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian laws, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment law, and contract law.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems, particularly ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System, is an added advantage.
- Excellent contract drafting, review, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and legal document management.
