Position: Senior Counsel – Employment and Privacy Focus

In this position, reporting to the Associate General Counsel, your comprehensive legal knowledge will support BCI’s mission through strategic employment and privacy lawful management. Engaging closely with key business units, you will deliver actionable legal guidance that fosters a compliant workplace atmosphere, enhancing company performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the main advisor on employment law compliance issues
• Provide insights on privacy regulatory obligations, including GDPR
• Draft and refine governance documents to reduce risk exposure
• Proactively keep abreast of changes in employment and privacy laws
• Offer assistance during workplace investigations and related accommodations
Requirements:
• Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and bar admission in BC
• 5+ years’ experience in employment law at a law firm or in-house
• Knowledge of BC employment law and privacy legislation
• Proven experience in stakeholder relations and communication
• High degree of independence and judgment in legal matters
