Job Summary: The Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for developing, negotiating, and administering complex multi-billion-dollar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts related to the construction of combined cycle natural gas power plants. This role requires a deep understanding of contract lifecycle management, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution within the energy and construction sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-value contracts and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of EPC contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage the full contract lifecycle, from pre-bid and proposal development through contract closeout.
Assess and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring robust contract terms to protect company interests.
Collaborate with legal, commercial, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure contract compliance and effective project execution.
Monitor contract performance, including milestone payments, deliverables, and change orders.
Develop and implement contract management best practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Resolve contractual disputes, claims, and variations efficiently, minimizing financial and legal risks.
Lead negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and clients to optimize commercial outcomes.
Maintain thorough documentation and records to support audits, claims, and compliance reporting.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in EPC contract management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management within the energy, power generation, or construction industry.
Proven track record of handling large-scale, complex EPC contracts exceeding $1 billion.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, and other industry-standard contract frameworks.
Expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and claims resolution.
Familiarity with permitting, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements for power plant construction.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with international EPC contracts and cross-border negotiations.
Knowledge of project financing structures related to power plant development.
Certification in contract management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM) is a plus.
Work Environment & Location:
Hybrid work environment with travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
