ConsultANZ is looking for Senior Contract Administrator for a well-established construction company based in Sydney. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Commercial Manager, supporting contract administration, commercial operations, and project delivery across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the contractual and commercial administration of live construction projects.
  • Review, negotiate, and administer client contracts, identifying commercial risks and preparing contract departure tables where required.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients to achieve commercially favorable outcomes.
  • Prepare and assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Manage contractual aspects of project delays and provide advice on contractual entitlements.
  • Prepare, assess, and negotiate variations and contractual claims.
  • Draft and manage contractual correspondence in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to Project Managers and State Managers throughout project delivery.
  • Process progress payment claims and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve contractual matters.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and contribute to commercial reporting and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management within the construction industry.
  • Strong experience managing live construction projects from a contractual and commercial perspective.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, contract administration, variations, EOTs, payment claims, and contractual claims.
  • Experience reviewing contracts, identifying commercial risks, and preparing contract departure tables.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Legal or contract-related training will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience working for a large subcontractor is highly desirable.
