Position Overview
Michael Best & Friedrich LLP’s growing Regulatory team is seeking to add a Senior Associate, Senior Counsel, or Junior Partner to its Energy practice. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in the energy industry and will be based in our Milwaukee office.
Key Responsibilities
Provide regulatory guidance in energy sectors including electricity, utilities, and renewables.
Support clients in regulatory, legislative, litigation, and transactional matters within the energy industry.
Navigate regulation of utilities at both state and federal levels.
Represent energy companies and large industrial clients in negotiations and power purchase agreements with utilities.

Candidate Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
Experience in litigation, regulatory, and legislative matters related to energy or extractive industries.
Ability to learn new skills and adapt to evolving firm needs.
Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and effective team collaboration skills.
Skills and Attributes
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Discretion and tact in handling confidential information.
Problem-solving skills, including proactive and innovative approaches to complex issues.
Professional demeanor and sound judgment.
Additional Requirements
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
