Real Estate Paralegal Location: Westwood, NJ
We are a well-established, fast-paced law firm concentrating in residential and commercial real estate transactions. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously, and committed to providing exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate closing documents.
- Communicate with clients, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, municipal offices, and opposing counsel.
- Order and review title commitments, surveys, municipal searches, tax information, and payoff statements.
- Coordinate inspections, certificates of occupancy, smoke detector certifications, and other closing requirements.
- Prepare closing statements, settlement documents, deeds, affidavits, and transfer documents.
- Schedule and coordinate closings while ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Track contingency dates, contractual deadlines, and post-closing matters.
- Provide administrative and paralegal support to the attorney as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a real estate paralegal in a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey residential and commercial real estate transactions preferred.
- Familiarity with title review, municipal requirements, and closing procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and document management systems.
