Education:
BTech/MTech/ MSc/PhD (Biotechnology/ Life Sciences- M. Pharm/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry)
Experience:
5-7 years’ experience in patent drafting, filing and prosecution in an in-house IPR department of Pharma/Biotech company or in a law firm

Secondary Responsibilities
To assist in patent prosecution and to manage BBL’s IP portfolio including patent searching, drafting, responding to office actions.
To provide various types of patent analyses, such as those for patent landscape, patentability of inventions, competitive assessment, and patent invalidation, portfolio analysis. Conducting keyword and amino acid/nucleotide sequence based patent and non-patent literature searches in various databases.
To perform FTO/infringement analysis and to assist in preparing Infringement/non infringement strategies for all developmental projects. Analysis of patent claims to prepare IP opinion and report for freedom-to-operate, infringement, validity, and prior art studies
To identify and report innovations in a technology domain through analysis of patent and scientific literature
To perform keyword and amino acid/nucleotide sequence based patent and non-patent literature searches in various databases
To prepare requisite search reports with value added comments that help in decision- making
To carry out searches and analyses to support decision-making around technology and IP
To identify the novel and patentable features for patent filings
To be able to draft the patent claims and have knowledge of the patent filing and prosecution.
To assist in Patent Filing, Drafting, Prosecution and Maintenance
To analyze patent examination report or office actions and preparing response of the same
To assist in pre-grant/post-grant patent opposition in various jurisdictions
To prepare patent prosecution summary and maintain timelines
To identify patent equivalents and calculation of patent expiry in different jurisdictions
Certification: Â Certification or Diploma in Patent Law preferred, patent Agent preferred.
