A confidential U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Probate and Trust Litigation practice in Texas.

This role focuses on fiduciary litigation, complex probate disputes, and trust and estate controversies, frequently involving sophisticated fact patterns and significant financial stakes.

The position is well suited to an attorney who enjoys ownership of matters, direct client contact, and building a long-term practice within a partnership-track structure.

Houston, Texas

Schedule:

In office 4 days per week

Compensation:

Base salary from $140,000

⚖️ The Role:

Manage probate and trust litigation matters from intake through resolution

Develop and execute litigation strategy, including early case assessment and settlement positioning

Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other persuasive filings

Handle written discovery and document strategy

Take and defend depositions

Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed

Communicate with clients regarding strategy, risk, and settlement options

Contribute to practice development through client relationship building and referral cultivation

✅ Requirements:

Active Texas law license in good standing

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

At least 5 years of probate litigation experience

Strong command of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence

Demonstrated ability to draft technically strong and persuasive litigation documents

Experience taking and defending depositions

Ability to independently manage a docket and run matters with appropriate supervision

Strong legal research, advocacy, and client communication skills

Preferred Background:

Strong academic credentials, writing skills, and references

Interest in business development and developing referral relationships

Record of high achievement in a fast-paced, team-oriented litigation environment

Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary from $140,000
