FEPORT, founded in 1993, is a policy-led and policy-driven organization that represents the interests of terminal operators and stevedoring companies in the seaports of the European Union and Turkey. With a membership consisting of multinational terminal operating companies and national associations, FEPORT aims to promote the collective interests of its members and maintain a continuous dialogue with EU stakeholders.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Policy Advisor located in Brussels. As a Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of policy development, analytical work, communication, research, and public policy. You will collaborate with stakeholders and policy-makers to ensure the understanding and representation of the priorities of the European private port operators’ sector.
You will also responsible for supporting FEPORT in promoting the organization through different channels and tools, establishing fruitful cooperation with stakeholders, collecting and utilizing relevant information, building trust, and becoming an expert in the sector.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring inclusive dialogue and constructive exchange of views between FEPORT members and European policy-makers.
Key responsibilities
Monitoring policy developments and developing FEPORT position on relevant policy issues; Committees’’ management and secretariat: preparation, running and follow-up of internal working groups and working groups shared with stakeholders;
Strengthening the association’s relationship with partners in Brussels;
Developing position papers, fact sheets, writing reports and articles;
Contributing to the organisation of workshops and external meetings;
Helping to promote FEPORT positions towards the European Institutions;
Representing FEPORT in external events and in meetings with other associations;
Writing the monthly newsletter and other communication material;
Participating to the organization of FEPORT Annual Stakeholders’ Conference.
Required skills and qualifications
A Master’s degree in a relevant field, preferably in European affairs, economics, EU Law, Logistics, Diplomacy, International Relations.
Ideally 3 years of professional experience in EU affairs (ideally in the transport) or in intenational or European Trade Associations or EU Institutions;
Full proficiency and excellent writing skills in English;
A keen interest in European port sector;
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
A flexible and proactive attitude to work combined with an autonomous working style;
A solution-oriented attitude and a positive mindset to work in a small team;
Ability to thrive under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
