Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is assisting a boutique law firm in its search for an experienced Patent Litigation Attorney for a fully remote, temporary, 2+ week opportunity.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 2+ weeks, with the potential to extend
- Location: Remote
- Hours: 30–40 hours/week
- Compensation: Starting at $115/hour, dependent on experience
Responsibilities
- Draft and support the preparation of an opinion of counsel related to five patents in the firearms technology field
- Conduct complex legal research and analysis to evaluate the validity and enforce ability of relevant case law
- Identify and apply current Federal Circuit and Supreme Court patent law precedents, including knowledge of the America Invents Act
- Utilize Westlaw or Lexis efficiently for in-depth legal research
- Potential for additional litigation support beyond the initial engagement, including:
- Drafting motions (e.g., motion for preliminary injunction)
- Assisting with discovery and deposition preparation
- Supporting trial readiness, including participation in depositions
Requirements
- Substantial patent litigation experience with a strong background in legal research and opinion writing
- Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction (in good standing)
- Licensure in Delaware, Montana, Wyoming, or Texas is a plus
- Working knowledge of mechanical engineering or familiarity with firearm trigger systems is preferred
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment
