Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Patent Associate role based in Bangkok. The Patent Associate will draft and prepare patent specifications, claims, and related documents for inventions across various technical fields. The role includes managing patent application filings, coordinating with local and international clients, and communicating with patent offices and relevant authorities. The Patent Associate will assess patentability, conduct prior art searches, and provide opinions on the scope and strength of IP protection. Additional responsibilities include advising on patent law and intellectual property strategy, collaborating with attorneys and technical specialists, and helping ensure that clients’ rights are effectively protected and enforced.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in patent preparation and drafting, including the ability to clearly describe technical inventions and define claims.
  • Experience managing patent applications, including filing, prosecution, and coordination with patent offices or external agents.
  • Ability to evaluate patentability, conduct prior art searches, and provide reasoned opinions on the scope and validity of inventions.
  • Solid understanding of patent law and related intellectual property principles, with awareness of regional and international IP frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, IT) or law with IP specialization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in written work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Thai language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to manage multiple matters in a time-sensitive environment.
