Position Overview
The Foreclosure Paralegal I will manage assigned portfolios and matters while working closely with attorneys and leadership to help mitigate client loss and legal risk through the accurate and efficient management of the foreclosure process.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare legal documents and assist attorneys with foreclosure-related transactions
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of data entered against source documents
• Review and interpret legal documents, including recorded Deeds of Trust, property titles, dockets, and pleadings
• Prepare and mail Notices of Acceleration, Applications for Foreclosure, Motions, and Orders
• File required documents with the appropriate courts
• Interface with court personnel regarding file status, hearings, and orders
• Communicate with opposing counsel and escalate matters to attorneys as needed
• Ensure all required notices and motions are prepared and processed in compliance with client, investor, and regulatory guidelines
• Escalate legal processing issues to internal and external stakeholders
• Respond to inquiries from clients, debtors, attorneys, vendors, and internal teams
• Update client systems in accordance with work standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in systems such as BlackKnight and MSP
• Mortgage servicing or legal experience preferred
• Paralegal certification preferred, but not required
