A law firm seeks a highly motivated Oil and Gas Title Attorney to join their team in Texas. This full-time role involves providing expert legal services to clients in the oil and gas industry, ensuring compliance and protecting client interests.
Duties
- Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
- Analyze documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
- Draft title opinions identifying defects, liens, or issues affecting property ownership.
- Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Provide legal guidance on risks and strategies for mitigating issues in transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts, ensuring legal compliance.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry.
- Collaborate with litigation attorneys when legal action is necessary.
- Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions.
- Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license.
- At least three years of experience drafting title opinions for Texas lands.
- Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
- Strong commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Passion for professional development and skill enhancement.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
