Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their commercial litigation group. The ideal candidate will possess strong advocacy skills, experience handling complex litigation, and a deep understanding of business disputes, including consumer class actions. This role involves working on high-profile cases and delivering top-tier legal services to clients.
Duties:
Manage and oversee commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution
Draft pleadings, research legal issues, and prepare contested motions (e.g., motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, preliminary injunctions)
Take and defend depositions
Handle written discovery and respond to discovery requests
Argue motions in court
Provide strategic advice on legal matters related to business disputes, including consumer class actions and other forms of complex litigation
Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to ensure the highest standards of service
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial litigation
Experience managing cases independently or with minimal supervision
Background in drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and briefs
Strong oral advocacy skills, including the ability to argue motions in court
Experience in discovery processes, including taking depositions and responding to discovery requests
Demonstrated interest or experience in consumer class actions and other complex litigation areas
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active membership in the California Bar
