Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 100 international law firm seeking a 2nd to 4th year Mergers and Acquisitions Associate to join its New York NY office.
This is a fully transactional role focused on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and strategic corporate transactions for a broad client base that may include public companies, private companies, private equity sponsors and financial institutions.
The firm offers a respected national and international platform, a collaborative and team oriented culture, and strong professional resources for associates seeking meaningful responsibility on complex deal work. This position is expected to be office based five days per week in New York.
The Opportunity
You will work on domestic and cross border buy side and sell side transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances, spin offs, carve outs, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and tender offers. The role is expected to involve diligence management, drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, coordination with specialist teams, closing process support and advice on corporate structuring and related deal mechanics.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 2nd to 4th year Mergers and Acquisitions Associate with:
- 2 to 4 years of significant mergers and acquisitions and strategic transactions experience
- Experience with domestic and cross border buy side and sell side transactions
- Knowledge of corporate structuring and related transaction mechanics
- Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive into New York
- Strong client service orientation and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is $260,000 to $365,000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
