JOB PURPOSE
To lead and manage the airline’s security operations in compliance with national and international aviation security regulations. This role ensures the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of security programs, oversees regulatory compliance, and conducts investigations into security incidents. The manager acts as the Secondary liaison with civil aviation authorities, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies, ensuring the airline maintains the highest standards of safety, security, and operational integrity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as a secondary liaison with civil aviation authorities, airport operators, and law enforcement
• Develop, implement, and oversee airline security programs in compliance with national and
international regulations (e.g., ICAO, TSA, local CAA).
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security systems and procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with aviation security laws and standards. Prepare for and support internal and external audits and inspections and maintain up-to-date documentation and records required by regulatory authorities.
• Lead investigations into security breaches, incidents, and suspicious activities and Coordinate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies during investigations.
• Supervise and mentor security personnel across stations or hubs and develop and deliver training
programs on aviation security, regulatory updates, and emergency response.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, legal, customer service) to address security concerns.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and threat analyses. Develop and test emergency response plans and business continuity strategies and ensure readiness for handling crises, including hijacking, bomb threats, and cyber incidents.
• Analyse security data and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to security policies, procedures, and technologies. Report performance metrics and incident statistics to senior leadership.
• Develop and implement training modules for aviation security staff and Ensure training aligns with local CAA requirements.
• Establish and enforce procedures for verifying passenger travel documents. Implement tools and
techniques to identify forged or altered travel documents.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in business studies / security or in a related discipline with 08 years of relevant work experience preferably in a regulatory organization will be advantage of which 03 years in a supervisory role.
• OR Specialised certificate / License in the related field preferably Professional course ICAO AVSE – PMC with Secondary School and having 14 years of WY / Aviation experience in similar functions.
• Master’s degree in the related discipline OR PMC will be advantage.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Leadership and Management Skills: Strong team management and staff scheduling capabilities. Ability to design and deliver training programs for screeners and inspectors. Skilled in crisis management, conflict resolution, and interdepartmental coordination.
• Technical and Operational Skills: Deep understanding of corporate security technology. Ability to
conduct risk assessments, security audits, and compliance checks. Proficiency in report writing, incident documentation, and regulatory communication.
