Responsibilities

  • Admin coordinator for investigations and prosecutions in the State Grand Jury (SGJ) Division under general supervision.
  • Manage SGJ Telephone Line and Division Mail: provide professional, responsive customer service; relay messages and information to relevant staff and attorneys; handle mail to and from the SGJ Division and coordinate with the Attorney General’s Office mail room.
  • Manage SGJ supplies, provide operational support for information technology peripherals, and address other logistical needs: procure and maintain supplies; coordinate with staff and attorneys to obtain needed items; monitor and assist with IT peripherals and basic maintenance of copiers, printers, scanners, and related electronics; collaborate with Support Services and IT to ensure SGJ functions smoothly; address related needs.
  • File Room, Document and Evidence Management, Organization, Retention, and SGJ Term Logistics: maintain control and organization of investigative files and evidence; assist Paralegals with documents and discovery; maintain original case files; ensure Brady materials are available for defense review; manage closed cases and secure disposal of evidence; assist with subpoenas and related compliance.
  • Coordinate Transcript and Evidence Reviews: work with Paralegals and Supervising Attorneys to schedule and oversee reviews; interface with defense counsel to ensure discovery materials are available; provide necessary accommodations for a smooth review process.
  • Supplement Paralegal, Data Processing, SGJ Discovery and Investigation Support: scan, save, and file investigative and court documents in the appropriate system; organize with proper tags and categories; assist in analyzing documents and evidence to support investigations and prosecutions as directed.
  • Catch-all: perform other duties as assigned by the Attorney General, Chief Deputy AG, Deputy AG, and Chief Attorney of the SGJ; assist with scheduling and various projects for the Section and Office.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or above; an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant law enforcement, military, legal, or administrative experience; or a high school diploma with at least four years of relevant law enforcement, military, legal, or administrative experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Position may require some overnight travel.

  • Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and program services.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to the specific administrative function.
  • Knowledge of governmental fiscal and personnel procedures, practices, and policies.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of subordinate personnel.
