Job Description
Estes & Banks, P.C. is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support attorneys in a high volume practice through all phases of Texas property tax litigation. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who is comfortable managing deadlines, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with courts and opposing counsel.
Responsibilities
· Manage property tax litigation files from initial filing through trial or agreed judgment
· Draft, file, and track petitions, citations, returns of service, and routine court pleadings
· Maintain accurate calendaring of deadlines, including discovery, hearings, expert disclosures, and trial dates
· Draft routine motions and scheduling orders; coordinate with opposing counsel and courts
· Support mediation, pre-trial, and trial preparation.
· Handle settlement and post‑judgment tasks, including Agreed Judgments and tax refund designations
· Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members
· Ensure strict deadline compliance and file organization across all assigned cases
Qualifications
- Prior experience in high volume, Texas civil litigation required
- Property tax experience preferred but not required
- Strong calendaring and deadline management skills
- 3+ years experience with Texas court filing procedures required
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Experience with Clio Manage preferred
