Intent of the process
This process is being used to staff current and future vacancies. A list of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff positions in Winnipeg, Manitoba or Kenora, Ontario, with varying tenures and/or security requirements according to the position to be staffed.

Important messages
Successful applicants are required to work in Winnipeg, Manitoba or Kenora, Ontario, depending on the location of the position being staffed. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option. Persons selected for appointments must reside within a commutable distance of the workplace.

Operational Requirements
– Ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours which may include working evenings and weekends based on operational needs.
– Requirement to work in office in the location of work of the position being staffed, in accordance with Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Direction on Prescribed Presence in the Workplace.

– Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in a law related field (already obtained OR obtained before appointment) or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

– Experience providing legal assistance in a legal office, court or tribunal.

– Possession of a legal secretarial certificate or diploma (already obtained OR obtained before appointment).

– Experience:
– Experience working in a Crown Prosecutor’s Office or Criminal court.
– Experience in reviewing, formatting and processing a variety of legal and non-legal documents.
– Experience providing administrative support in a legal environment.
– Experience with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
– Experience in preparing cases for litigation.
– Experience in dealing with legal correspondence and legal files.
