Position Summary
Ropers Majeski is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Docket Specialist to join our litigation team in a fully remote capacity, or from one of our West Coast offices. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate litigation calendars and docketing information for matters in California, Washington, and Nevada state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of court rules, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain and manage litigation docketing and calendaring for California, Washington, and Nevada state and federal court matters.
- Interpret and apply applicable rules of civil procedure, local court rules, and scheduling orders to accurately calculate and calendar deadlines.
- Process calendar requests submitted by attorneys and business professionals in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review court filings, notices, orders, and other case-related documents to identify deadlines, hearings, and other critical events.
- Identify, revise, and update deadlines and calendar events when there are changes to court schedules, case developments, or procedural requirements.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the firm’s docketing system.
- Communicate calendar updates, deadline changes, and critical dates to attorneys and staff as appropriate.
- Assist with internal docketing audits to ensure compliance with firm procedures and accuracy of calendaring records.
- Assist with closing old matters and maintaining accurate case records.
- Support attorneys and business professionals with docketing-related inquiries and research.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client matters and firm information.
Qualifications - High School Diploma required.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum of five years of experience in a comparable docketing, calendaring, or litigation support position within a law firm.
Technical Skills - Knowledge of legal docketing and calendaring procedures.
- Ability to interpret rules of civil procedure in state and federal courts and schedule deadlines accordingly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; Excel experience is a plus.

Knowledge of CompuLaw is a plus, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits - Base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience
