ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Jurisiti Legal LLP invites applications from motivated and dedicated law graduates for our Long Term Assessment Internship Program. This is a rigorous, hands-on opportunity designed for individuals who aspire to build a strong foundation in core litigation practice, with particular emphasis on court appearances, oral arguments, and real-time advocacy before various judicial forums.
The internship serves as a comprehensive assessment period (minimum 6 months) during which we evaluate the candidate’s legal acumen, work ethic, courtroom presence, research capabilities, and cultural fit with our firm. High-performing interns demonstrating consistent excellence, professional maturity, and a genuine passion for litigation may be considered for extended engagement or absorption into the firm as a Trainee Advocate / Junior Associate, subject to performance evaluation and firm requirements.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We seek candidates who meet the following mandatory eligibility criteria:
- 5-Year Integrated Law Degree: Must have completed (or be in the final semester of) a 5-year integrated law program such as BA LL.B., BBA LL.B., B.Com LL.B., or equivalent from a reputed law college or university. Preference will be given to graduates from National Law Universities (NLUs), top-tier private law schools, or well-recognized institutions with strong academic credentials.
- Minimum Commitment: Availability and willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 months for the assessment internship without interruption.
- Deep Interest in Core Litigation: Demonstrable passion for courtroom practice, including attending hearings, assisting in arguments, preparing case briefs, and developing advocacy skills. Candidates must be genuinely interested in the rigors and rewards of litigation practice rather than corporate or non-litigation roles.
- Geographic Proximity: Must reside within a 5-10 KM radius of our office at Dabri Mod, Janakpuri, New Delhi. This ensures punctuality, availability for urgent court matters, and seamless daily commute.
- Full-time Onsite Availability: Must be prepared to work onsite from the office on all working days — Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (with reasonable flexibility aligned to court listings and case requirements). Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this position.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
- LL.B. degree combined with Company Secretary (CS) qualification (completed or pursuing) — highly advantageous for handling commercial and corporate litigation matters.
- Prior internship experience in a litigation-focused law firm or exposure to court work (district courts, consumer commissions, commercial courts, etc.).
- Strong foundation in procedural laws (CPC, BNSS/CrPC, Indian Evidence Act) and substantive laws relevant to civil, commercial, and consumer disputes.
- Proficiency in legal research databases (SCC Online, Manupatra, LiveLaw, Indian Kanoon) and MS Office suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work under time pressure while maintaining accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Interns will be actively involved in the firm’s civil, commercial, business, and consumer litigation practice. This is not a shadow internship — you will be expected to contribute meaningfully while learning under close mentorship:
- Court Exposure & Advocacy: Accompany senior advocates to court hearings, consumer commission proceedings, and commercial court matters. Observe and gradually assist in oral arguments, cross-examinations, and interim applications as competence develops.
- Legal Research & Case Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on case law, statutory provisions, and procedural aspects relevant to ongoing matters. Prepare comprehensive case briefs, notes on arguments, and comparative analysis of judgments.
- Drafting & Pleadings: Assist in drafting plaints, written statements, applications under various provisions (Order 39 Rule 1 & 2, Section 151 CPC, etc.), legal notices, replies, and other litigation documents. Emphasis on precision, clarity, and persuasive drafting.
- Client Interaction & Counseling: Participate in client meetings (under supervision), understand client briefs, assist in preparing instructions, and develop client-handling skills essential for a successful litigation practice.
- Case Management & Documentation: Maintain organized case files, track court dates and listings, prepare cause lists, and ensure timely filing of documents. Develop systematic case management habits.
- Strategy & Brainstorming: Actively participate in internal strategy discussions, contribute ideas on case theory, evidence strategy, and procedural tactics. Learn to think like a litigator.
- Consumer & Commercial Matters: Gain specialized exposure to consumer disputes before District, State, and National Commissions, commercial suits, recovery proceedings, business contract disputes, and related advisory work.
