Description:
We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Melbourne team, playing a key role in providing legal support and guidance across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for offering expert legal advice on a broad range of issues, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, and managing legal risk to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. They will collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop solutions that balance legal and commercial considerations, assist with corporate governance matters, and support dispute resolution and litigation when required. Additionally, the role involves staying informed of legislative and case law developments, contributing to the enhancement of internal policies and procedures, and advising on intellectual property, data protection, and privacy issues. The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Skills and Experiences:
A qualified solicitor with a minimum of five years’ post-admission experience, possessing demonstrated expertise in commercial law and contract negotiation. Highly knowledgeable in corporate governance and compliance matters, with a proven ability to provide strategic legal advice that supports business objectives. Adept at managing legal risk and delivering solutions-oriented advice, while effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Equipped with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, has a strong understanding of employment law, intellectual property, and data protection regulations.
