Role Overview
As an Independent Contract Legal Recruiter, you will leverage your agency recruitment experience to source, screen, and present qualified candidates to our clients. This flexible role is perfect for someone looking to supplement their current full-time job or for someone seeking to work independently on a commission-only basis. You will own the recruitment cycle from initial candidate outreach to offer negotiation, ensuring a seamless experience for both clients and candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing: Use creative methods (job boards, networking, social platforms) to attract and identify qualified candidates.
Screening & Assessment: Conduct phone screens and interviews, evaluate candidates’ skill sets, and align their backgrounds with client requirements.
Client Coordination: Collaborate with our Account Managers to understand job specifications, desired skill sets, and culture fit.
Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of candidates, track their progress, and provide regular status updates.
Negotiation & Closure: Facilitate the offer process, managing candidate and client expectations to ensure successful placements.
Reporting & Compliance: Keep records of candidate interactions, notes, and feedback in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Qualifications
Agency Recruitment Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a staffing agency or similar environment for high value legal roles.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in placing candidates in specialized or high-volume roles.
Self-Starter Mentality: Ability to work independently, set your own schedule, and manage your recruitment pipeline without constant supervision.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to effectively engage with candidates and collaborate with clients.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using applicant tracking systems (ATS), professional networking platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), and other recruitment tools.
Compensation & Benefits
High Commission: Earn 35% commission on every successful placement & 5% on any leads that materialize.
