Job Summary:
A regional law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor & Employment Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to its employment law practice group. This role is essential to maintaining case organization, ensuring compliance with court deadlines, and supporting attorneys through all stages of employment litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, excellent organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of legal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain case-related materials for assigned matters.
Create, maintain, and update paper and electronic case files.
Calculate, docket, calendar, and communicate court and internal deadlines.
Schedule court reporters and videographers; track protective order certifications, confidentiality designations, and errata sheets.
Conduct legal and factual research on individuals, corporations, and opposing counsel.
Prepare exhibits and documentation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
Prepare form submissions including notices of appearance, waivers of service, motions for admission pro hac vice, and similar filings.
Draft simple form documents such as ADR stipulations, Rule 26(f) reports, corporate disclosures, and initial disclosures.
Prepare subpoenas and coordinate payment of witness fees and service.
Draft, proofread, and assist in the preparation of presentation materials including PowerPoint decks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, specifically in labor & employment law.
Experience supporting employment litigation and familiarity with FDCPA compliance.
Special Requirements:
Knowledge of litigation support software tools, such as Relativity, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, CaseMap, TextMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, iCompli, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local court rules and administrative agency procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong legal research and document preparation skills.
Comprehensive understanding of legal deadlines and case management workflows.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a legal support team.
Flexibility to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
Experience handling e-discovery and managing large volumes of case data.
Exposure to or understanding of NLRB, EEOC, and other labor-related administrative processes.
Familiarity with document review software and trial preparation tools.
Work Environment:
Hybrid work schedule may be available depending on business needs.
Standard business hours with occasional extended hours based on deadlines or court schedules.
Limited regional travel may be required for hearings, depositions, or trial support.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
