Role Description
To handle and defend Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases filed against the company under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Represent insurer’s interest, minimize liability, ensure compliance with court orders, and settle claims in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive and scrutinize summons/notices from MACT courts across assigned districts
• File vakalatnama, written statement, and additional pleadings within limitation
• Coordinate with panel advocates for case appearance, evidence, and arguments
• Attend MACT hearings personally in critical/high-value/fraud cases
•. Field visits to investigate fraud cases.
• File police complaints in fraud cases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in the insurance (1-2 years
Proficiency in Punjabi – Read, Write, Speak essential. Must be able to understand legal documents, police records, court proceedings, and communicate with claimants, advocates, and local authorities in Punjabi.
