Role Description The Legal Officer will work full time on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, supporting the practice with end-to-end legal services. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents and contracts, as well as conducting legal research and analysis across relevant areas of law. The role involves advising internal stakeholders and clients on legal risks, compliance requirements, and business implications, and assisting with negotiations where necessary. The Legal Officer will coordinate with external counsel or regulatory bodies when required, maintain organized case files and documentation, and ensure timely follow-up on legal matters. The position also includes monitoring changes in applicable laws and regulations and contributing to the development and improvement of internal legal processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Law and Business Law for handling commercial and general legal matters.
- Candidates should possess skills in Contract Law and Legal Document Preparation for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in Legal Consulting to provide clear, practical advice and assess legal risks for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess excellent legal research, analytical, and interpretation skills, with the ability to present findings in a concise and structured manner.
- Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- LLB or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; bar membership or eligibility to practice law in India is preferred.
- Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, particularly in contract and business law, will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive environment.
