About the Role
The Intersections is a Section 8 "Do-Tank" dedicated to creating real-world, data-driven solutions across core urban innovation domains, including Waste Management, Urban Mobility, Public Health, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Infrastructure.
As we scale our operations, we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Legal & Grants Operations Associate to join our foundational team. This role is a unique hybrid of corporate governance and ecosystem funding strategy. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our compliance structures are ironclad while actively identifying capital pathways to fund our real-world civic impact initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance & Strategy: Research, map, and execute legal compliance requirements relevant to a Section 8 company operating in the civic innovation and sustainability sectors.
- Grant Engineering: Scour local, national, and global institutional databases to identify relevant grants, fellowship funding, and innovation challenges. Draft compelling, highly structured applications and project proposals.
- Policy Architecture: Design, draft, and implement internal company policies, operational guidelines, and governance frameworks that establish a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Risk & Advisory Mapping: Review agreements and coordinate baseline documentation for institutional partnerships, universities, and urban stakeholders.
Who You Are
- The Legal/Governance Mind: You are currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law (BA LLB / BBA LLB), Corporate Governance, Public Policy, or a highly adjacent field.
- The Strategic Researcher: You have an analytical eye for scanning complex legal documents, compliance checklists, and grant guidelines without letting details slip through the cracks.
- The Compelling Writer: You know how to translate abstract operational goals into clear, persuasive, and structured written documentation.
- Process-Driven: You love bringing order to ambiguity and are excited about building organizational frameworks from the ground up.
