To support our ongoing growth, Caldwell Ritchie Berry is seeking to appoint a Legal Director. As a multi-jurisdictional legal practice, the successful candidate will be working at the cutting edge of construction and procurement law in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England & Wales. The ideal candidate will possess the following key attributes:
- A solicitor of at least 7 years’ PQE (consideration will be given to lower levels of PQE where related industry experience is demonstrated);
- Admission as a Solicitor in Ireland, Northern Ireland or England & Wales;
- Experience of working exclusively as a construction and / or procurement lawyer for at least 5 years;
- Ability to conduct both written and oral advocacy to a high standard;
- Someone with a “can do” attitude to work and an entrepreneurial mindset;
- Experience of training contractors and / or contracting authorities in either construction law and / or procurement law;
- Experience of taking the lead in acting for clients and being the day to day point of contact, including in relation to billing;
- Experience of working with NEC3/4, JCT, RIAI, Public Works Contracts, FIDIC and other similar industry standard forms;
- Extensive experience of acting on behalf of parties in construction ADR, to include statutory construction adjudication, conciliation, arbitration or similar; and
- Experience of advising Contracting Authorities and / or tenderers in relation to procurement law matters.
A full driving licence is essential.
