An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join a well-established investment organisation in Dubai as Legal Director.
Reporting directly into executive leadership, you will act as the organisation’s principal legal advisor, providing strategic counsel across a broad range of commercial, corporate governance, regulatory and operational matters. You will lead the legal function, oversee a small team, and partner closely with senior stakeholders to protect the business while enabling commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the executive leadership team.
- Overseeing responsibility for the companies Real Estate portfolio, including leasing
- Provide commercially focused legal advice across a diverse range of business activities.
- Lead complex contract negotiations and draft bespoke commercial agreements.
- Drive corporate governance, compliance and legal risk management initiatives.
- Develop legal policies, templates and processes to support the wider business.
- Manage external counsel and legal spend.
- Oversee trademarks, corporate records and regulatory filings.
- Lead, mentor and develop the internal legal team.
About You
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Arabic drafting is essential for this position
- Significant in-house legal experience, ideally within a large corporate or diversified group, although candidates from leading private practice firms with relevant commercial exposure will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of UAE laws, real estate, corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Commercially astute with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Previous experience leading legal teams and advising senior executives.
