Our client, a leading Wealth Management firm, are seeking a Legal Director to join the firm’s Legal team on a permanent contract. The job will report into the General Counsel and involve a focus on ensuring the firm meet strategic ambitions while providing legal support on a broad range of matters.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Director will include:
Support the General Counsel on management of key strategic growth projects and commercial contract management duties
Advise key stakeholders on matters to ensure a co-ordinated response to legal challenges for key projects and contracts for the business
Facilitate the implementation of appropriate legal strategy including standardisation and streamlining of legal review processes
Support in developing and managing the legal function whilst driving capability, capacity and cross-functional collaboration
Identify legal risk and suggest alternatives strategies that may lead to optimal business solutions
Key Requirements of the Legal Director will include:
At least 10+ years post qualification experience either within law firm or in-house with senior level responsibilities
Qualified Solicitor with law degree or holder of equivalent overseas professional legal qualification
Strong experience in private practice and/or in-house in a range of disciplines is essential, with particular focus on corporate, financial regulation, employment, pensions, property and banking and finance
Strong knowledge and experience of the Irish regulatory framework as well as experience in the financial services industry is preferred
Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks and to present this advice to non-legal leadership personnel
