Legal Counsel (Workplace Relations) opportunity with a not-for-profit membership-based organisation. This organisation plays a significant role in supporting a large, state-wide sector and is undergoing a period of growth and renewal, with evolving workplace relations and compliance needs across its network.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be part of a collaborative in-house legal team and take ownership of a broad range of matters across employment and industrial relations. The role will see you advising internal stakeholders on contracts, award and NES compliance, workplace policies and change management initiatives. You will also manage employment-related disputes, litigation and be involved in enterprise bargaining and broader industrial relations strategy.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced employment and industrial relations lawyer with approximately 4–5 years’ post-admission experience. You may come from private practice or an in-house environment and will have a strong understanding of workplace legislation and modern awards. You will be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, pragmatic in your approach, and comfortable working in a purpose-driven, fast-moving environment. The role offers hybrid working arrangements (three office days per week).
