Interac is seeking a Legal Counsel to report directly to the Deputy General Counsel. This role requires 2-5 years of experience in the payment industry or technology firms. You will advise on commercial contracts while fostering innovation and protecting our esteemed brand’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice on technology vendor and service agreements
• Negotiate commercial contracts with a focus on risk management
• Collaborate with internal teams on operationalizing legal frameworks
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to knowledge management
• Assess legal risks associated with new products and technologies
Requirements:
• Law Degree and active membership with Law Society of Ontario
• 2-5 years of post-call legal experience in relevant sectors
• Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity regulations
• Experience with financial services technologies preferred
• Strong analytical skills and proactive mindset
