Role Title: Analyst – Legal Engineering (Product)
Team: Legal Engineering, (Product)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated, Cape Town based attorney to join our legal engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years PQE, possessing a deep understanding of contracting and transaction negotiation. Experience with handling IT, outsourcing or services contracts and Legal Tech or AI is highly desirable. In this role, you will help build and scale Sirion’s GenAI SKUs within our industry leading CLM platform. You will thrive if you’re meticulous, curious, comfortable with uncertainty, and energized by working in a flexible, fast-paced environment while collaborating with global stakeholders.
How You’ll Make an Impact
AI Contract Review & Quality
- Validate and continuously improve GenAI SKUs performance by testing, verifying, and refining AI inputs/outputs for accuracy, consistency, and usability across contract types and scenarios.
- Review contracts and build scalable legal assets: playbooks, clause guidance, red-flag standards, escalation matrices, and QA checklists. Contribute to (and help standardize) remediation and high-volume review workflows where applicable.
Legal, Product & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams to integrate legal requirements into feature workflows and translate legal nuance into clear, implementable product guidance.
- Work effectively in a global team: communicate clearly, collaborate openly, and contribute to shared standards and ways of working across regions and time zones.
Prompt Engineering & AI Enablement
- Drive improvement in operations, design, iterate, test, and document strong prompt strategies for AI contract review use cases such as issue detection, clause classification, metadata extraction, obligation identification, and risk assessment.
- Demonstrate a structured approach to prompt engineering and iterative testing, with a focus on improving AI performance over time.
Feedback, Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize feedback from users and internal stakeholders to continuously improve feature quality and customer trust.
- Maintain a structured approach to defect triage, edge-case capture, and improvement prioritization.
Process & Operational Excellence
- Help build structure from the ground up: draft and maintain SOPs, testing protocols, evaluation rubrics, and reusable templates/assets that enable repeatable, high-quality feedback and actionable insights.
- Contribute to scalable ways of working and help establish processes that support high-quality delivery at scale.
Skills & Experience You Bring to the Table
- Legal Education – Mandatory: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
