Serving as the Legal Counsel for the EMEA Region (based 2/3 days per week in Schaffhausen), advising senior leaders and partnering directly with the Head of Region as a core member of the Regional Leadership Team.
You will drive legal strategy, advise multiple business units, ensure responsible growth, and oversee complex cross‑border matters across a portfolio spanning dozens of markets. From enabling commercial innovation to ensuring robust governance of our Dutch holding structures and international subsidiaries, your leadership will help shape ADAMA’s future.
This is a high‑impact, highly visible role that blends strategic influence, legal excellence, and operational leadership across one of ADAMA’s most dynamic regions.
What You Will Do
- Deliver timely, high‑quality legal advice across the full spectrum of matters in the EMEA Region.
- Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, supporting commercial strategy and strategic decision‑making.
- Manage regional legal risk and ensure alignment with global legal and compliance standards.
- Champion digital transformation, including the implementation and use of modern legal tools and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and innovation.
- Drive the regional legal and compliance agenda, with emphasis on competition law, anti‑trust, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Draft, negotiate, and enforce key commercial agreements.
- Lead complex, cross‑border legal matters, including high‑value transactions and strategic initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring efficient, responsible use of resources.
- Serve as the key liaison for sensitive matters involving regulatory authorities, investigations, sanctions, data privacy, and anti-bribery compliance.
- Oversee litigation and contentious matters, including product liability cases.
- Provide oversight for corporate governance and secretarial work for Dutch holding companies and regional subsidiaries.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, learning, and legal excellence across the global Legal Department.
What You Bring
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience, ideally within multinational, regulated industries
- Exposure working with a leading law firm would be advantageous
- Proven expertise negotiating complex commercial agreements and leading multi‑jurisdictional, high‑value transactions.
- Deep specialist experience in a key legal domain, paired with strong strategic acumen.
- Experience advising senior executives in complex, matrixed organisations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience—guiding legal professionals, managing external counsel, and handling cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
